Who We Are
The Editor Method is an online education business operated by Nick Perretti. We offer a 6-week live cohort course, a book, and related educational content on AI evaluation engineering. Our website is theeditormethod.com.

What We Collect
Information you give us
- Name and email address — when you opt in to a free chapter, course waitlist, or purchase
- Role / job title — collected on the opt-in form to personalize content
- Payment information — handled entirely by our payment processor (Stripe/Gumroad). We never store card numbers.
- Course submissions — worksheets and deliverables you share during the cohort
Information collected automatically
- Essential cookies — required for the site to function (e.g., your cookie consent preference)
- Analytics cookies — only if you accept them. Used to understand how visitors find us (page views, referral sources). No cross-site tracking.
- Server logs — standard Cloudflare logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited). Retained for 30 days for security purposes.
How We Use Your Data
- To send you the free chapter and email course you requested
- To deliver the cohort course and communicate about sessions, materials, and your cohort
- To send periodic educational emails (you can unsubscribe any time)
- To process your purchase and issue receipts
- To improve our site and content based on aggregated, anonymized analytics
Who We Share Data With
We use a small set of trusted service providers to run the business:
- Email platform (e.g., ConvertKit / Resend) — to send you emails you've opted in to
- Payment processor (Stripe / Gumroad) — to handle transactions securely
- Cloudflare — our hosting and CDN provider
- Course platform — to deliver course materials and sessions
Each provider is contractually required to protect your data and use it only to provide services to us.
Your Rights
Depending on where you are located, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten")
- Opt out of marketing emails at any time (every email includes an unsubscribe link)
- Object to certain types of processing

Cookies
We use two categories of cookies:

Data Retention
- Email list subscribers: retained until you unsubscribe or request deletion
- Course participants: retained for 3 years after course completion for record-keeping
- Purchase records: retained for 7 years as required by tax law
- Server logs: 30 days
Children's Privacy
Our course is designed for working professionals. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it promptly.
Changes to This Policy
If we make material changes, we'll notify active subscribers by email and update the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance.
